In my experience I have time and again run up against the reality that many people are on Coumadin to thin the blood and as a result of this they cannot used herbs that have blood thinning qualities. It is quite frustrating for Cancer patients especially since there are many herbs that are effective against Cancer and cannot be used in tandem with Coumadin.

I have often wondered in cases such as these whether it would be a good idea to switch a patient from Coumadin to the effective Cancer fighting herb which could be used to both thin the blood and fight the Cancer effectively. I believe that there is at home technology to monitor the Coumadin levels so patients could be trained to make sure they are getting enough herbal medicine to do both jobs.
